Hailing from St. Mary, Jamaica, Lenn Hammond was born into a musically gifted family. A founder in the new generation of Lovers Rock Reggae, Lenn has built his career on soulful, love-themed ballads and social-
cultural/political songs which have garnered air play on radio stations from Alaska to Australia, Sweden to South Africa and everywhere in between. According to the Jamaica Gleaner's Garfene Grandison, “Lenn Hammond is no stranger to what results from mixing talent, dedication and true passion."

Blending talent is all part of the musical formula Hammond has brought to his current recording sessions in Europe, resulting in the release of Love You With Honour; recorded in the UK and produced by Christopher "Peckings" Price. In response, the single has been added to the playlists of some of Europe's most popular reggae programs: Dutty Mixdown Radio Show in Belgium, Under Pressure in Italy, Reggae Portugal Radio Show, Reggae Vibes and Riddim Shower in the Netherlands and Germany's foundation soundsystem, Silly Walks Discotheque.

Across the pond, the song is charting in Canada on Reggaemania's Top 10 Reggae Chart and has been featured on radio stations from Toronto to Honduras.

Meanwhile, Lenn's second album, Raw Soul continues to find its way into new markets; most recently in Romania.

Conceptualized by Up Deh Music Group (U.D.M.G), Raw Soul was years in the making; this project is a collection of live studio recordings of Lenn and fellow musicians, the Uprising Band. The sessions re-created the sound of 70’s classic soul with the modern day twist Lenn likes to call, “raw soul”, which to him "is Reggae, Soul, Lover’s David Dacks writes, “Lenn Hammond is a current standard-bearer of the great American soul tradition.”

The album's first single, Not Far From Sunshine, charted on Choice FM in the UK and announced Lenn’s debut on rhythm guitar. The same guitar helped him pen Mr. DJ, which charted in Alaska, and No Stranger, which received regular rotation in Jamaica on Irie FM and Hitz FM. The songs Close Again featuring Louie Culture and How Can You Mend A Broken Heart topped reggae charts in North America, while Europeans also saw No More Peace, and in addition to the writing and instrumentation, Lenn Hammond produced many of the tracks on Raw Soul.

Hammond’s labour and love for music is a testament to his musical journey that began long before receiving the JUNO Award for Best Reggae Recording for his self titled, debut album; before the Canadian Reggae Music Award (CRMA) and the Urban Music Award (UMAC). A student of the music, Lenn feels it necessary to continue to experiment and evolve as an artist as well as create music to which people can relate. His journey of growth, successes, struggles, changes, sacrifices, and learning have materialized into this body of work.

"Lenn Hammond's style has matured immensely and there is much from Hammond the world has yet to experience," writes the Jamaica Observer. With 18 tracks to choose from, this single disc is filled with enough music for a double CD.

“Hammond’s raw and earthy, but silky vocals caress each of the rhythms,” writes Stephen Neale. “The quality in this release does not only apply to his voice, but also to the lyrics: whether they are straight out lover’s rock tunes, like ‘I Love You’, or the more topical subjects, such as heard in ‘No More Peace’ or articulating the tragic story in ‘Why She Done It’.

Lenn Hammond is a trend setter and an ambassador of the music, prepared to travel wherever the music takes him. Raw Soul is going to welcome Lenn Hammond the world over.
